How We Are Managing COVID-19 at Open Sky.

It goes without saying that the health and safety of our clients is our #1 priority. Without exaggeration, it’s the reason why we exist. Therefore, despite the good news of increasing numbers of vaccinations, we continue to take COVID-19 precautions very seriously. Open Sky Recovery is committed to ensuring that every client is protected and can have peace of mind that they are living in a safe environment. We follow CDC and LA County protocols for COVID-19 prevention. Below are the guidelines in place at our sober living.

Staff

Every member our staff is fully vaccinated as well as fully trained and up to date on the current recommended protocols instituted by the LA County Department of Health. We follow the data closely, always on the lookout for ways to reduce the risk of infection for our clients and the greater community.

New Client Screening

All potential new clients are given a screening for COVID-19 and will be asked to provide proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test result before coming onto the property. If a client needs assistance getting tested we are happy to help arrange it.

Everyone is asked the following screening questions:

  1. Have you experienced any of the following symptoms in the past 48 hours: fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose. nausea or vomiting, diarrhea
  2. Are you isolating or quarantining because you tested positive for COVID-19 or are worried that you might be sick with COVID-19?
  3. Are you fully vaccinated OR have you recovered from a documented (positive test at time) COVID-19 infection in the last 3 months.
  4. Have you been in close physical contact in the last 14 days with anyone who has COVID-19 or who has had symptoms consistent with COVID-19?
  5. Are you currently waiting on the results of a positive COVID-19 test?
  6. Have you traveled to a different state or country in the last 10 days?

House and Client Safety Protocols

  • Daily temperature and symptom screenings
  • Sanitizer stations throughout the house for clients to use
  • Daily house sanitizing including all high touch surfaces
  • Clients are required to wash hands or use sanitizer upon entering the house
  • Clients are provided masks and portable sanitizer bottles for use when off property

Quarantine Protocol

If a current client is found to have a high temperature or any other symptoms of COVID-19 the following steps will be taken:

  • Client will be taken immediately for appropriate medical care and both rapid and PCR COVID-19 tests
  • Client will be placed into a single room without contact to any other clients until the results of their test is available, or until their symptoms subside.
  • Staff will immediately sanitize the entire house with recommended wipes and sprays by the CDC.
  • Other clients will be placed under strict monitoring for symptoms.
  • Client may be asked to quarantine outside the home if necessary.
